  • Renee Zellweger

A big deal is being made about how much weight Renee Zellweger has lost.

She was known as a slightly chunky actress in her role in the Bridget Jone’s Diary.

    renee zellweger

Which do you think is a better look for her, the thin or the chunky?

  • I’d go chunky because it fits her face more. And I think the media is far too focused on how frail people become in Hollywood. Thanks for the emoticon support.

  • you have great posts on here. renee looks better chunky.

  • i think renee looks better when she’s thinner, but more cute when she’s fatter

  • I’d say thinner..

  • Thank you for the support :)
Also I’d say bigger makes her look more female.

  • I like the chunkier, myself.

  • She looks cute thin.  As long as it doesn’t go overboard, it’s fine.

And I do listen to my parents.

Hence my venting frustration on xanga.

    lol.

  • It’s sick how much everyone says the thin is good.  I don’t like seeing 12 year old girls dissapear when they turn sideways because “it’s all the rage in hollywood”.  It’s getting disgusting.  I weighed 109 at one point.  I looked like I was from a freaking concentration camp, ribs exsposed, collar bone popping out, hip bones sticking out.  It’s NOT sexy and it will NEVER be sexy.  My husband(then boyfriend), always was afraid he’d break me because I was so thin.  She is too thin up there, her hand bones and arms are nothing but sticks, her shoulders are just balls there.  She barely has curves.  And people for some reason see that as pretty or sexy.  America is losing it’s touch on reality here

  • I believe she looks better a bit chunkier. Of course, whatever she feels comfortable as is what is best for her.

  • it’s from pride&prejudice. wonderful book, good movie as well. but who needs men when we have those amazing things around us.

and she looks good in both. she looks healthy in both, which is good.

thin is becoming to important in our society. to many girls my age (16-18) are way to concerned about how thin the look. its sad.

  • Renee looked pretty good, back when she did “Chicago” She wasn’t abnormally big or small. She had a good frame then.

  • It’s a question of perception, but I choose to battle it with truth and logic:

She looks so skinny it makes me question the regularity of her menstrual cycle.

Which would mean she looks unhealthy

and unhealthy in my book is UGLY.

  • She looks good either way. She’s not chunky, she is a figured woman with curves. She looks good like that. I actually don’t think she looks unhealthy skinnier.

  • She looks great either way, but I like the thin dress better.

  • definately chunky she looks kinda worn out thin.

  • it should be somewhere in between

  • She also stared in Jerry McGuire, though I’m not sure which movie came first. (Not great at keeping up with movies.) To be honest, not sure which way she looks better. Skinny looks a little off and being too big is unhealthy/didn’t give her the best look. Perhaps just shedding a little would have been best, but then again… everyone has different views.

  • have any other actors gone thru this visbile change?

  • chunky looks better for her. she looks anorexic in the other photo

  • I don’t see the other as being chunky.  But in the second, she’s all strung out and her face is blotchy.  She looks like two different people.  Her hair is much more thin and shaggy looking, and I’m betting it’s because she’s not being healthy.  You loose your hair when you don’t eat properly or if you’re bulimic(spelling) or anorexic.  Just to add on from my above rant

  • I think she’s fine either way…but honestly, if the camera adds 10 lbs, I think she’s too thin.

  • I’d have to say…thinner. She looks a lot happier with herself, and of course you know she isnt being unhealthy by the look of the healthy glow on her skin.

  • For me, it’s not about which is better.  They are different, that’s all.

  • I think her face is prettier when she’s not so thin – but her body looks great slim…..lol, but her boobs are gone! haha…

  • how incredibly sad that the picture on the left is called “chunky” or worse. she is a normal size there. sigh. she looks fine in the one on the right too, except being so thin makes her face garish and large.

  • Chunky. So much can be said about how messed up the media is, but I believe everyone already knows what I would say.

  • I think she looks ugly either way. I don’t really consider the picture on the left “chunky,” either.

  • I personally don’t mind either! She looks wonderful either way.

  • I find it somewhat silly that the picture on the left is described by the adjective “Chunky”.  That particular word to me implies someone who is beyond a healthy weight, but not quite obese.  She looks like she’s at a healthy weight on the left, so I guess the proper word would be “regular”.

  • I’d say chunky.

  • i think she is an incredibly cute woman, but the pictures you have of her are not good ones lol. i don’t like her either way, though. i am sickened by everyone in hollywood (male and female) forcing their weight down to unnaturally small numbers. i think she would look so much better if she put a little bit of meat on her bones. i realize that some women are just naturally skinny with a slight build, but a lot of actresses are simply overdoing it.

  • the second picture is way more flattering, even though she’s probably underweight or borderline. it’s just the way the picture is taken and the way that she is standing. i don’t think that she looks anorexic. however it’s saddening to see her lose weight. i swear, if another celeb. develops an eating disorder i’m going to be upset.

  • I wouldn’t even call her chunky
you can see her shoulder blades
when some one is “chunky” you can’t see bones
    she is a gorgeous woman
and she looks more womanly when she isn’t
    emaciated

  • I think she looks cuter thin, but that’s a bad chunky picture.

  • Women look better with a lil more meat on their bones…. like the sayin goes… more cushion for the pushin! Hahah!

  • THINNER ALL THE WAY.  She can definitely use some self-tanner though.  Maybe she wouldn’t look so sickly.

  • i like her being chunky.

  • Oh if only beauty would be measured in actions rather than in this physical form!  lol.  In my opinion it’s not whether or not you wear a size 0 or 18, but how you carry yourself.  She appears happier from the skinny picture, but she looks like she’s in healthy weight on the left.  It really makes no difference to me.  People are too obsessed about shallow things.  I often think celebrities look better with more weight.  Angelina Jolie for instance looked better to me when she was in shape for the “Tomb Raider” movies.  Now she appears frail.  Kelly Clarkson has gained weight and she looks great.  Honestly, what’s it matter?  We’re all going to get old and wrinkled and probably fat and sag if we don’t get a bit of “work” done anyhow, so might as well just be happy…and go eat a brownie.  :)

  • I like the first one but the second one she looks happier. I think the media got to her. Poor gal.

  • She has that ‘Marilyn Monroe’look about her with long hair and all..I wouldnt say that one is better than the other because hey would you like me still either way?…
Oh and “ahem”…you dont have to answer that one.. ;)

  • I think she looks better with some meat on her bones for sure. The first BJD movie and Jerry Macguire were both examples of healthy looks for her. She looks way too thin in that particular picture and her head doesn’t match the rest of her. I absolutely adore Renee and she is from my neck of the woods. I wish her the best without being a stick figure… like the rest of the morons in Hollywood.

  • She looks better thin.  I’m quite sure the people saying she looks better “chunky” are either chunky or chunky-plus themselves.  That’s not to say she looks BAD heavier.  She looks fine, sexy even.  But I think she looks BETTER after the weight loss.

I don’t see why people are making such a big deal of it though.  It’s not like she looks unhealthy or anorexic.  Chunkier folk just get upset when there’s one less Hollywood contender in their corner.

By the way, I knew nothing of this hoopla until reading it on your site.  It must be news that circulates among those who concern themselves with celebrity news.

  • Honestly? She looks healthy either one. I wouldn’t mind her if she were chubby or thin.

  • i say chunky. i think that it fits her more than the forced thin image.

  • hmm (well if you’ve seen it) i liked how she looked in the first bridget jones’s diary- she was really healthy looking

  • She looks better chunky. She was more adorable then and stick out amongst the stick thin people in hollywood (get it….stick out and stick thin….hahaha…..i’m so lame) But I’m happy that she loose those fat through the right methods which is working out. Good thing she did not become aneroxic like the olsen twins.
